We’re excited to share more about our new construction software which we’ve been working hard on in recent months. This new product is an important new addition to our offshore wind armoury as it extends our system beyond operations & maintenance so that operators can embed digitalisation from the get-go.
COVERED THIS MONTH
Our new construction solution has been designed for teams working on offshore wind farm construction, enabling them to plan and deliver construction tasks seamlessly and efficiently. It greatly simplifies the complex logistical juggle of having multiple contractors performing different tasks.
Without an automated system, interruptions can happen, resulting in wasted resources, missed simultaneous operations (SimOps) opportunities and delays. By using our construction software, you can consolidate contractor work plans, optimise vessel schedules and plan tasks so that they can be executed simultaneously without risk of interfering with each other’s activities.
Flexibility is at the heart of the design. The modular nature of the platform enables users to be able to adopt as much or as little of it as they need. The construction tool can be used either with other modules from the platform or can be easily integrated with other third party systems. For example, it works with our existing Marine Coordination module, providing full sight of real-time contractor movements, giving a much clearer view on what is happening on site at any one time.
By adopting our construction software, you get a live IT platform that can be embedded from the outset and will evolve through the lifetime of your project. This allows you to gather valuable data from the construction phase that can then be seamlessly transferred into operations, ensuring data and learnings are not lost, once the wind farm goes live.
Dive deeper into our offshore wind farm construction solution and learn about the benefits it offers. Discover how you can stay in control of your construction teams, third party contractors and the project as a whole.
Real time metocean data
Improve decision making by giving personnel the same real time visibility of metocean conditions. Make accurate judgements based on live and forecast conditions for the best planning decisions.
Real time tracking
Identify where people and vessels are and what they are doing, coordinate emergency responses, control exclusion zones and breaches, and more. This is all viewed on a marine map with rich data integrations and extensive functionality.
Transport insights
Plan and keep track of all your vessels, their certifications, authorisations and communication data. Have all transport categorised by type and view and export all planned and live vessel movements on a timeline.
Work planning
Solve the day-to-day challenges with our powerful and flexible work management tool – Set to Work, which has been adapted for construction-specific needs. Simplify and streamline your permit to work process and easily identify simultaneous operations. Manage your own and contractor work and share work scopes with all stakeholders. Plan work at the required level of detail and from different perspectives: workers, locations or vessels. Manage all personnel qualifications, certifications, authorisations and communication data
HSE incidents
Get easy access to a complete workflow of HSE cases for easy management of incidents and events. Have visibility over a database of incidents alongside functionality covering reporting, handling and resolution for HSE KPIs.
Increased efficiency
Increase the efficiency of your construction phase teams by identifying (and preventing) simultaneous operations (SimOps) before they happen.
Streamlined processes
All contractors and employees submit work plans into a single system to reduce human errors and bring the project in on time.
Puts you in control
Keep control by integrating multiple live data streams to ensure you have an accurate picture of all moving parts through construction and into operation.
Flex to your needs
Mix and match modules depending on individual site requirements. Choose a basic or more complex option.
Trusted
The software has been deployed by Ørsted at its South Fork wind farm off the coast of New York. We worked closely with the Ørsted team to hone the product so that it exactly matches the needs of construction professionals.
Sennen was appointed to the South Fork Wind project in the USA, collaborating with global renewable energy company Ørsted to implement an innovative digital system. Leveraging Sennen’s existing tried and tested technology, this new system supported Ørsted with the planning and execution of the construction of New York’s first offshore wind farm.
As Sennen’s software has been primarily focused on wind farm operations and maintenance, this venture marked a significant milestone in the company’s product development journey. The system played a crucial role in enabling Ørsted to deploy teams and vessels for various construction phase tasks simultaneously, mitigating the risk of interference between activities conducted by different contractors and optimising vessel schedules. This was particularly critical for on-site multi-contractor management, where interruptions can lead to wasted resources and project delays.
With the automated system in place, Ørsted gained comprehensive visibility into contractor movements, streamlining construction activity planning and allocation, while ensuring efficiency and safety.
By using Sennen’s technology on one of our live construction projects, we get a valuable, early opportunity to further improve our construction activities – reducing cost and risk.
